Industry Panel of Judges Selects Bromium’s vSentry for Prestigious Innovation Award
Cupertino, Calif. and Boulder, Colo. – May 6, 2014 – Bromium®, the pioneer of a new model of endpoint security using micro-virtualization, today announced its selection as the winner of the prestigious SC Magazine Awards 2014 Europe Innovation Award for their unique vSentry endpoint solution. The annual SC Awards program is recognized as the most prestigious mark of achievement for IT security products and vendors. The award is now in its 17th year and showcases the best solutions, services and professionals fighting against security threats.
“It is a huge honor to be recognized so highly by the SC Magazine Awards judges,” said Ian Pratt, Co-founder and EVP for Products at Bromium. “Our unique micro-virtualization technology redefines how to secure enterprise endpoints, defeating cyber-attacks in real-time on end user devices and empowering users with the freedom to click on anything without the worry of being compromised. It is a new paradigm, applying some much needed computer science to the security problem, and moving on from ineffective detection-based methods such as anti-virus.”
Bromium vSentry automatically creates hardware-isolated micro-VMs that secure every user task on a PC – such as visiting a web site, downloading a document or opening an email attachment. Each task runs in its own micro-VM, and each micro-VM separately secures each application session, away from the trusted enterprise network. If malware targets the end user, the threat is contained in the hardware isolated micro-VM. Consequently, it’s never able to steal or damage the user’s or enterprise’s information, and is destroyed when the task is complete. Bromium vSentry is transparent to the end user, and has no discernible impact on user experience or system performance.
“With vSentry, we are leading innovation in the endpoint security space, and these awards are a great validation of the power of the technology. This award win affirms that our pioneering approach to endpoint protection is resonating with the security industry,” Pratt concluded.
Bromium is re-inventing enterprise security with its powerful new technology, micro-virtualization, which was designed to protect businesses from advanced malware, while simultaneously empowering users and delivering unmatched threat intelligence to IT. Unlike traditional security methods, which rely on complex and ineffective detection techniques, Bromium protects against malware from the Web, email or USB devices, by automatically isolating each user-task at the endpoint in a hardware-isolated micro-VM, preventing theft or damage to any enterprise resource. Bromium’s technological innovations have earned the company numerous industry awards including being named as a CNBC Disruptor and a Gartner Cool Vendor for 2013. Bromium counts a rapidly growing set of Fortune 500 companies and government agencies as customers, including NYSE and BlackRock.
